The Waterway Experience Center at the Gösselthalmühle Mill

The visitor center “Erlebniswelt Wasserstraße”, idyllically located on the Main-Danube Canal in the Gösselthalmühle in Beilngries, provides visitors with exciting information about the waterway, technology, navigation and nature. The permanent exhibition extends over two floors and is suitable for all ages.

At interactive stations, a wide variety of topics relating to shipping and the waterway can be explored and discovered. For example, you can listen to the radio communication between an inland waterway skipper and a lock keeper or understand the differences in altitude that the Main-Danube Canal overcomes. The special characteristics of the water and the habitat for flora and fauna can be explored. At a simulated steering station you can steer the ship yourself.
The outdoor area invites visitors to linger and has been redesigned with play elements related to ships and water.
