Stuttgart – Afghanistan. Connect. Tell. Encounter
Special exhibition at the Linden-Museum Stuttgart
The participatory exhibition tells of the entangled connections between Stuttgart, Germany and Afghanistan. It was developed and curated by the Linden-Museum together with the working group ‘Entangled: Stuttgart – Afghanistan’. Since 2019, people from the Stuttgart region, many of them with an international and Afghanistan-related history, have taken part, along with partners from the academic and artistic fields. People’s personal stories, memories and thoughts enrich the presentation of historical and everyday objects, creating an important link to the present.
The design concept integrates a variety of mediation formats into an exciting overall picture that is formed from the central idea of a kaleidoscope. Historical context is linked directly to the original exhibits. Quotes and comments in German, English and Farsi, films, interactive stations and hands-on artistic interventions involve visitors and create a multifaceted tour.
